ZOOS

Take a look at these facts about zoos:

Most zoo animals will never see their true home in the wild, they will always stay in the zoo

Zoo animals can make visitors poorly when people touch them

Zoos can be called ‘wildlife parks’ or ‘sanctuaries’, they are still zoos!

No matter how big the enclosure, zoos can never meet all the needs of a wild animal

The animals don’t have enough space to live happily so some of them will go mad

Some zoo animals are sold or moved from place to place, taking them away from family

Zoos take some animals from the wild and keep them in small places

If an animal did get moved from a zoo into the wild they could spread diseases

Looking after animals and their homes in the wild is cheaper than keeping animals in a zoo
